A Ridiculously Early Advent Calendar Gift Guide

What can I tell you? Advent calendars sell out early these days, and I don’t want you to miss out. The fact that it’s only just October is not lost on me..! 

Here are some of my favorites, including the absolute BEST beauty calendar (value) that I’ve seen – no gate-keeping here. I’ll be reviewing lots of these live on Instagram this month so, make sure to tune in for exclusive sneak peeks. But don’t dilly dally, everyone loves an advent calendar and I am not an exception.

1. Living in Hawai’i, I can vouch that this Delicious Hawai’i advent calendar does actually contain amazing treats from 24 local small businesses! Also available for other states. ($159)
2. Roaster’s Choice! A coffee advent calendar for a true aficionado. Includes a tasting journal and brew guides. ($109)
3. This sold out SO fast last year so, please, hurry! The Fly By Jing calendar features some favorites, but also – new this year – noodles and some exclusive surprises. ($98)
4. Okay, so as to thwart any disappointment, this is – sadly! – not 12 days of jars of pickles (somebody make this, please), but 12 days of dill pickle flavored snacks like jerky and pretzels, which is still very cool! ($89)
5. A special wine advent calendar featuring just white and rose wines – so smart. There are other varieties too. A good calendar to order early so that you/they have the time to enjoy it all.  ($139.99)
6. This is a great option to replace a traditional chocolate calendar – Candy of the World! Featuring 4 pieces of candy from a new country each day, this is amazing value. ($35)

1. My favorite category – beauty. Don’t sleep on this Jurlique calendar! I feel like it does not get enough coverage and offers spa quality products at a fraction of the price all presented so beautifully. ($177)
2. This may be sold out by the time you read this. Jenni Kayne’s Oak Essentials first ever advent calendar, also featuring luxury accessories like socks and an eye mask. ($350)
3. For someone who really loves makeup and a whole look, this MAC calendar is it. I counted 19 full-sized products?! This is pretty much unheard of in a beauty calendar. ($262, in GBP)
4. This one is new to me and so unique! The Onsen Retreat calendar features stunning and authentic Japanese home wares and treats each day. ($155.99)
5. This is *my pick* for the season. The Vogue advent calendar screams luxe – it is certainly expensive, but besides luxury skincare and makeup, it features a full-sized fragrance, a Therabody device, a Moschino bag charm, jewelry, a hat, and a digital subscription to the British edition of the magazine. Plus, proceeds benefit several charities. Find more details here – I’m so excited to get mine! ($519)
6. Another sleeper hit from overseas (that easily ships to the US, duties included) is the Niche Beauty calendar. This one features 16 full-sized products, among them favorites from wonderful boutique brands like Dr Barbara Sturm, Mantle, Mutha, Byredo, Lisa Eldridge and so many others. ($410)

1. This one is so different – a Retro Electronic Games advent calendar for the most tech-savvy dude or dudette in your life. ($30)
2. Pretty self-explanatory, but what kid (or adult) doesn’t love Magnatiles? This is a new calendar this year and is sure to be a hit in many a household. ($39.99)
3. This is fun and different – Googly & Bright = googly eye wooden ornaments (they’re super cute!) for 12 days. Who can resist, especially at this price. ($25)
4. 12 Days of Clay! Scan QR codes for instructions for a different magical creation each day. This is a fun one for the whole family! My kid is super into crafts these days and this is a no-brainer. ($69)
5. Oh, I love doing a puzzle over the holidays – usually one that is too ambitious. This advent calendar solves that problem since it contains 24 100 piece mini puzzles. And they’re all New Yorker covers – this is my dream! ($200)
6. I have a new found love for Polly Pockets for kids. Maybe it’s the portable nature, maybe its the mini cuteness, or maybe it’s their new vending machines in airports (yes). Either way, this is on my list! ($29.69)
