We ate and we ate well this summer but if I had to narrow it down, these would be my three new* favorite NYC restaurants:
(*new as in they have just opened this year.)
Seamless, friendly service and interesting takes on modern CDMX style cuisine in a restaurant space that feels like someone’s very cool apartment. I was endlessly fascinated by the above summer zucchini, lardo, and cherry salad. It’s ingredients that I never would have thought to put together! The skewers were also perfection.
Everything here was FUN. The wine list is spectacular and full of handwritten staff suggestions. All of the seafood was outstanding, but we are all still talking about the desserts – get them! The candied nori millefieulle with a subtle licorice cream + the celery float. (Shoutout to Jess for the recommendation!)
Perfect for a night out – that tapas are generously sized and the whole place is very happening in the evening. There is a lot going on in that one corner of Chinatown that’s suddenly full of great (*non-Asian – the great Asian restaurants were already there) restaurants. Excellent selection of tinned fish and Spanish cheeses – important!
