We came together to celebrate and be thankful this weekend for my second annual Friendsgiving dinner benefitting No Kid Hungry.
And we raised over $1,000! So grateful for everyone’s support and contributions. It really does take a village – from borrowing extra chairs to help with florals and shopping to designing gift bags etc. it’s not only the food that makes the atmosphere special!
Here are some scenes from last night & some of what was on the menu:
The tablescape had subtly Gothic vibes with warm tones of ochre and copper scattered throughout.
As the guests mingled over drinks, we enjoyed warm cornbread with honey butter and a bounty of autumnal roasted vegetables.
There was roast beef and lots of sides, like stuffing, potatoes, and bacon brussels sprouts.
Then the usual thing that happens in the middle of a dinner party happened – I forgot to keep taking pictures! – but that was because everyone was having such a wonderful time.
By the end of the evening, we moved on to the dessert, which included this amazing French pear and almond tart (thank you, David Leibovitz!) that was a huge hit that I will surely be making again – we polished off two of them last night.

What a beautiful dinner and a fabulous occasion! I would have enjoyed more photos, but the ones you provided show a very lovely meal! I have supported the No Kid Hungry campaign for a few years now and you’ve given me such a good idea here! Very, very nice!
