For this week’s ‘French Fridays…’ I made the sweet and salty nuts – the herby variation – both to snack on at home and to give away as gifts! They had a great crunch to them and I loved the sweet and salty contrast – one of my favorite flavor combinations.
I added herbes de provence, sweet paprika, a few pink peppercorns, rosemary, salt and sugar.
Here they are going into the oven and looking gorgeous! Mine got a little bit stuck to the parchment so next time I am definitely using a silpat.

Love your packaging!! For some reason I just wasn’t that turned on by the idea of making nuts. But you’re right about it being lovely gifts. Reconsidering……

I wasn’t either, initially, but they smell SO, SO good while they’re baking. Let me know if you try them!

Sweet paprika, pink peppercorns AND herbs de provance! I love your cahooneys! I only used the herbs, and they were divine, however I might have to get a little creative!
Thanks!

I love salty and sweet together, and these weren’t too spicy but did pack a punch! I’ll be honest though, I also just wanted some more finely powdered spices to go with the herbes de provence so that they’d incorporate well into the sugar&salt mixture.
