My Top Ten Thanksgiving Recipes

It’s that time of year again but I, for one, love planning a holiday menu. So far, I have decided on cornbread, braised red cabbage, apple pie, sausage stuffing, and cranberry chutney.

Here are my top ten Thanksgiving favorites:

Start off with a spiced pear cocktail

If you love brussels sprouts, this one is for you

Pumpkin cake or pumpkin cornbread this year? Decisions, decisions…

I can tell you that a sweet potato gratin is always a good idea.

Any and all birds are welcome. But especially this Provencal chicken (can easily be made with turkey).

Maybe you go completely off-book with veal chops?! I would, for the thyme butter alone.

Rosti is a fun potato switch up and easy to prep in advance.

For dessert, I always lean to a fruit tarte (apple, quince or pear!)

Cranberry upside down cake is our family favorite. I adapted David Lebovitz’s recipe.

And here are those spiced poached pears that everyone always asks about – I think they are a great finish to a meal, along with some ice cream – so seasonal.
