(and zucchini)
I turned this week’s FFwD hamburger recipe into little meatballs (or polpette, which I guess made this whole thing a lot more Italian than French!). Quite easily done.
The onion marmalade – so delicious – cooked down with some tomatoes, zucchini – the pickles went in there too – for a summery version of a caponata.
Happy Italian Friday, I guess! And everyone stay safe out there amid the hurricane.

What a fantastic idea to make these as meatballs! I will admit that I found the recipe more seasoned that I’m used to, but I’m thinking they would sound perfect for meatballs.

Thanks! They were very seasoned as meatballs – not in a bad way per se but just more seasoned than I would normally make them 🙂

Great idea to turned them into meatballs and served in pasta…thanks for this briliant idea. I shall make them into meatloaf and meatballs in the coming making of these burgers 🙂 Your looks appetizing !

Thanks, Elin!
The burger recipe is a great base, you’re right!

That looks wonderful! The meatballs are so cute and your take on the onion marmalade as a base for pasta sauce is brilliant.

I love your interpretation of the recipe. Meatballs make perfect sense, and I can see them going either the Italian route or even the Swedish treatment with a sweet sauce. Thanks for the inspiration!
saffronandhoney says
Thank you, Adriana! I love the Swedish meatball idea.

love your version! I’m a big fan of meatballs – we might try a version of this for a party, sans pasta and zucchini.

Let me know if you do!
