Made a quick stop in Amsterdam, but still managed to fit in all the essentials, despite the wet wintery weather. Tulips seem to be season-less here though, which is a gift onto itself and a sweet harbinger of spring.
We spent a long afternoon at the Rijskmuseum admiring all the Rembrandts and the Van Goghs, as well as the porcelain and the library (my favorite). And we stayed at Zoku, which is sort of like a hotel/co-working space/club all mixed together, but still very cool and casual – I’d recommend it!
- Stopped for a warming cup of soup at Soup en Zo (their menu changes daily).
- Took plenty of coffee breaks and had a cozy dinner at Buffet van Odette on the canals with lovely friends whom it was so very good to see.
- Felt so inspired by all the interiors at Mobilia NL. And found my new favorite cafe-bar (it’s only been around since 1901) that was so full of various characters that I need to go back immediately for more lively banter at the round table and for all of the excellent jazz.
I brought back at lot of Tony’s chocolate – read about their mission on their page, if you don’t know it! – and stroopwafels, of course, as well as my favorite appelstroop and chocolate sprinkles for breakfast sandwiches to remember AMS by.
