Have already made it back to Provence but so beyond enjoyed our time in La Rochelle.
Whether it was climbing towers, wandering around the welcoming arcades of the old town, or enjoying local seafood specialities on the balcony, the city was a leisurely and cultural hit.
It was my first visit, but it will definitely not my last.
(Next time I’m sailing to Fort Boyard – it’s a nearby island setting for a French competition tv show that I have been obsessed with for over 20 years!)
