Had a lovely daytrip yesterday to a picturesque village called Valbonne. I felt right at home among the sunny cobble-stoned streets, with kids playing football, dogs & birds splashing in the water baths, and locals settling in for a friendly meal in the main square.
It was hard to tear us away from the perfect a point plus steak with a heady sauce of chanterelles and crispy dauphinois on the side. . . of course, followed by one delicate macaron, a cupful of the sweetest raspberries, and a sip of my first espresso in months. A good day.
Sounds wonderful!
