As you can probably tell, I am in France for Christmas!
And, as ever, it is not a bad place to be. They take their holidays seriously here, not least, in terms of food. Everyone is going all out, buying crates of oysters and stuffing everything with foie gras.
Tonight’s menu includes:
Caviar and foie gras tartines
Melon & cured Bayonne ham
Fennel-olive salad
Green salad
Tuscan rabbit and root vegetable ragu
Foie gras stuffed guinea fowl
Cheese course (from smelly to smelliest!)
Buche Noel de fruits rouges
A chocolate cake shaped like Santa’s house
Happy holidays, everyone!
After the holiday weekend, we are off to Turin for some more gastronomical delights.
