Getting this “postcard” installment off in haste, as I am catching a plane back to New York tomorrow.
This trip to France has been a whirlwind full of wonderful surprises. It has taken me from Paris to Jarnac and Cognac, to Bordeaux, Agen, Mirepoix, and then home to Provence and the seashore. I’m looking forward to some more quality time here in a month.
The gastronomical delights have been plenty. The highlights included a perfect dinner at Frenchie – it is as good as you hope and dream, I am still thinking about the fraise de bois in everything – cooking with Chef Ludovic at the Chateau, drinking rare wines from Jura, indulging in favorite Pierre Hermé flavors while taking a bubble bath (double indulging!), and learning all about cognac from Pierre, Jennifer, Beatrice, and Patrice.
