Summertime and the living is undeniably easy. Or it should be – here’s five ways to make sure that you enjoy this beautiful time of the year to its fullest.
Here is my top 5 list of things I want to do this summer, whether it is in Provence this July or back in New York come August – the great thing is that they easily translate to both locales or to wherever you may be:
1. Take a day trip – take a sunny break away from your hometown by exploring nearby small towns, villages, or state parks.
2. Picnic in the park – speaking of parks, one of my favorite summertime activities is a leisurely meal al fresco. Pack a cooler full of drinks, a selection of soft & hard cheeses, and fruit.
3. Host friends for apéro – get your friends together for a glass of rosé and an easy snack of radishes and cheese. {ps.} Peach-rose bellinis also make for a sophisticated yet simple summer cocktail.
4. Head to the beach or your nearest seaside town – because what is summer without a cooling swim and waves lapping at your feet?
5. Eat plenty of ice cream – sweet, tart, fruity, or minty fresh. What flavor will you be having? You can always make up your own! Or make these adorable ginger ice cream tarts. They will be a hit at home or at a rooftop party this summer.

Sounds like your list is a good one. Would you believe that we live five minutes away from the beach. We go often to the restaurants there but have never gotten our feet wet in the surf. 🙂

You know what, Karen, I often hear that from people in beach communities! 🙂 When it’s so close by, you actually sometimes forget that it’s there haha

This is a great list, with options for home and farther afield. My summer goals always include visiting forests, beaches, and mountains (all easy here); making the most of dog park time, before it gets muddy and rainy again; and some outdoor eating, even if it’s just on the backyard patio.

I love all of those goals and plans, Teresa!

This is the perfect summer list. I have done all of these except the trip to the beach. Maybe soon!

Thank you, Betsy! I hope you get to that beach!
