Of course, you never go to weddings or other special occasions just for the food but I have to admit I was extra excited ever since Hannah told me that they would be foregoing the traditional wedding cake and would instead be serving a cheese cake, as in a tiered “cake” made entirely of different kinds of local cheese.
What a wonderful idea.
For those more traditionally inclined, there was a dessert course after a goat cheese tart starter and a lamb main course:
At the end, after a beautiful ceremony and reception at the wildly picturesque Heath House, everyone was all too happy to tuck into as much cheese and crackers as you wanted, accompanied by homemade chutney. We even got some to take home – maybe once they are back from the honeymoon, Hannah, who I am happy to say is a big S&H fan, would share the recipe with us!
