Perhaps, fall came a little later than usual this year in New York, but that has not prevented me from falling hard for it already.
I love the crunch of leaves under my feet when I walk in the park, I love unboxing my tall boots and wrapping up in scarves. There is endless tea drinking and apples galore, as well as hygge-filled evenings by candlelight – what’s not to love about this time of year?
The greenmarket is so full of carrots, potatoes, apples, and pears so, here are some of my favorite fall recipes to make right now:
- Pumpkin cake with cinnamon icing
- Pot-au-feu
- Baked apples with buckwheat-oatmeal crumble
- Chai spiced punch
- Carrot and fennel soup
- Potato, pearl onion & chicken salad
What do you love about this season and what do you like to make this time of year?
I am gearing up for Friendsgiving next week – so excited! – and recipe testing for the menu ahead. It’s been a busy week, but I feel motivated.. and hungry! 🙂

Love your photos, you can just sense fall in the air. I’m glad we got to spend part of September and October in Europe as I loved fall. Brisk walks, sweaters and tall boots make me happy. Not much of a seasonal change now that we are living in Florida. 🙂

Thank you, Karen! We do finally have that crispness in the air here, and I am loving it 🙂
