It’s summertime and despite a certain brand of summertime sadness (I miss East Coast summers for that, in particular), it’s always an exciting time of travel and possibilities.
However – and maybe it is because I’m older now – but I also like a bit of predictability when I travel, in terms of what I bring with me. There are fun things, of course, but there are also reliable stand-by’s that I know will make any trip – or flight delay – smoother. Here are some of my summer travel must-haves (portable charger not included!).
Drop me a note to let me know where you’re heading next (for me, it’s the Pacific Northwest). And hey, there may be a travel guide on the site for wherever you’re going – here.
- A planner is essential – I’ve gotten this particular one for a friend and it was a hit! ($19.99)
- Always bring a reusable cup for hot and cold beverages on the go – this one fits easily in my carry-on. ($24.95)
- My favorite bathing suit (I have it in 4 colors!) from La Blanca – it is that universally flattering. ($83)
- A little fun ode to ideal summer travel via phone case (but it’s still a sturdy Otterbox – who knew?!) ($59.99)
- I like to travel with a snack, you never know when you will need it. The new lemon Levain? Dreamy! (4 for $29)
- A quality vitamin is so important, maybe even more so on travel days, and I trust Thorne. ($77 for 180 capsules)
- Packing cubes help you pack and unpack more efficiently and isn’t this new color so fun? ($45)
- Do I recommend these flats a lot? These are the mesh versions for summer + they need NO breaking in! I own two pairs already. ($160-$250 depending on color)
- The best thing at the end of a long travel day is to take it all off.. your face, that is. These resurfacing pads are it. ($70 for duo)
