It is apple season in the Northeast and it is such a beautiful time.
The leaves are just beginning to turn, the air smells slightly like smoke and wood-burning ovens, and the apples are ripe for picking.

Baked apples are a favorite in our house. Great roundup.
They seem to really extract all of the fall flavors into one. Something like those “autumn” candle smells attempt to do:)
Baked apples are so comforting when the weather gets grey and damp here. I’m most looking forward to baking apple cakes, though, they really welcome in fall for me.
